Low Cost Advertising Ideas
Do you want to advertise without breaking the bank but don’t know where to begin? Help is here!

Did you know that your existing customer database is your largest untapped resource for advertising? The best way to create repeat business is to continually educate your customers by letting them know the products you offer and that you value their business.
An excellent way to accomplish this is with mail stuffers. This is a very inexpensive advertising option. You already mail to your customer base so why not insert a sales message at minimal costs? To make it easy for you, Pride offers generic mail stuffers right here on www.prideprovider.com that you can download, print, stamp, and utilize. It’s so simple and so effective.

Our latest in mail stuffers include: • Lift Chair • Scooter • Scooter/Pride SilverStar Lifts & Ramps • Jazzy Select • Lift Chair/Scooter/Powerchair • Spring Holiday Season
Also, please note that we can create customized, low-cost, mail stuffers for your specific business needs through our Custom Literature Department. Please consider using this resource, as hundreds of providers already have.

| May 6, 2008 | J600 Temporarily Removed from Group 2
The J600 has been temporarily removed from the SADMERC classification list as a Group 2 product, but remains coded in Group 3. A modified version of the J600 will be available again soon as a Group 2 product. We recently made a product modification to the J600 Group 2 version which has been submitted to the SADMERC. This modification is a suspension change that will more closely align the product with Group 2 performance criteria.
As a result, for dates of service on or after May 5, the J600 can be provided as a Group 3 product, with no changes to billing or documentation. We anticipate Group 2 coding verification to occur within the next two weeks, at which time the modified J600 will again be classified as a Group 2 product. Until then, Providers can offer the J600 Group 3 version as a free upgrade to a Group 2 power chair. The claim would be submitted using the Group 2 codes with a GL modifier on the Claim Line. Then, in the extra documentation field, indicate that the client received a Group 3 product.
Pride apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this gap in code coverage, which was the result of an unforeseen delay in the SADMERC coding process. Our goal was to keep the J600 available in Group 3, while retaining a specific Group 2 unit, and we anticipated a seamless transition but, again, were delayed due to circumstances beyond our control.
For more information, or if you need assistance with any billing or coding issue, please contact a member of Pride’s Product Planning & Reimbursement Team at 1-800-800-8586.
We will alert you immediately upon notification that the J600 has received its Group 2 coding verification.

| May 5, 2008 | Pride Uncovers Potential Impropriety in Riverside, CA, CBA
Pride Mobility Products Corporation has recently uncovered potential problems within the Riverside, CA competitive bid area (CBA) related to the standard power wheelchair product category. At this time, we are asking Secretary Michael Leavitt to launch a full investigation into this matter.
A letter from Scott Meuser, Chairman & CEO of Pride Mobility Products Corp., to Secretary Leavitt concerning these issues, states in part:
“The information that has been reported to us is that 18 of the winning standard power wheelchair category bidders had all of the following in common: price, product supplier and consultant. This information has been corroborated to us by multiple sources.”
As previously reported by CMS, data from Riverside, CA, indicates that the winning bids were 50 – 70% lower than the current Medicare allowable versus the national average of 25%. This information further supports the notion that the integrity of the process may have been compromised. Scott Meuser went on to urge Secretary Leavitt, “this is an important matter that requires immediate action in light of the short timeframe that exists prior to implementation of the program on July 1, 2008.”
We are asking providers to raise these concerns when educating all industry stakeholders and government officials about the competitive bidding process. This information strongly suggests the need for a delay so that the competitive bidding process can be fully and properly evaluated prior to implementation.
